Financing a startup by ‘bootstrapping’

A number of recent studies from Thomson Reuters, PayNet and the National Venture Capital Association, among others, have found borrowing among small businesses to be up in recent months.

That includes venture capital, angel investment and bank lending and suggests that, along with gains in employment statistics, the economy is beginning to recover.

Dell lands significant security partner

On Tuesday, Dell announced the acquisition of SecureWorks, an 11-year-old, Atlanta, Georgia-based company that focuses on internet security, according to eWeek. The move was recognized as a two-pronged move by Dell as it seeks to increase its security networks for cloud computing while remaining in strong competition with Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
